Founded in 2004, Edinburgh Art Festival is Scotland’s largest annual visual art festival and aims to showcase a diverse and vibrant programme of visual arts exhibitions and events, representing and supporting the best international and emerging artists.
The vast majority of our exhibitions and events are free to attend. To be notified when booking for events opens, please sign up to the newsletter. New events are being added all the time.
Edinburgh is easy to reach from the UK and abroad, served by an international airport and good transport links by road, rail and sea. The Edinburgh Festivals website is a good first point of call to help plan your visit.
To help you find your way around Edinburgh,the artist Peter Arkle has illustrated a map which includes all of our exhibitions and commissions, plus other useful landmarks. You can download your copy or pick up a copy at any participating gallery for free. The map includes exhibition opening times and information on accessibility.
Visitors who have an iPhone may wish to download the free EdinBus app, or for Android users My Bus Edinburgh, both of which give up-to-date information on the nearest bus stops and arrival times.
Booking TicketsUnless otherwise specified, exhibitions are free. Where there is a charge, full details of prices and concessions are included on the website. Tickets to exhibitions can be purchased directly from the venue.
